Systems first.
Before LoadSub, founder Chris Morley spent almost two decades working as a systems developer. He understood what it takes to design, build and operate dependable software—and what it does not need to cost.
Then the view from a courier’s seat.
After leaving software, Chris worked as a self-employed courier and experienced the exchange market as one of the small operators relying on it for work.
The established services were expensive and complicated, with plenty of features that many smaller couriers rarely used. Yet those businesses were being asked to find hundreds of pounds every month from margins that were already painfully thin.
“As a systems developer, I knew there was no legitimate technical reason for courier and haulage software to carry such exorbitant membership charges. It felt like hands reaching into pockets that were already light.”
Chris Morley, founder of LoadSub
An idea that refused to go away.
Chris returned to systems development for several more years, but the exchange model kept bothering him. Useful software should help transport businesses protect their margins—not become another oversized bill they have to work around.
Still shaped by the road.
After moving into HGV driving, Chris continued working across the UK and Europe on Formula 1, live-event and pallet-network operations. That kept LoadSub grounded in the reality of transport: changing plans, thin margins, urgent loads and the importance of people you can trust.
